Good story, I do love that tense ticking clock portion towards the end where he had to use his gluttony to stuff himself to freedom.
I knew it wouldn't have ended any other way but I honestly sort of hoped for him to get out of this one. Oh well, atleast Mai never have to worry about food ever again!

Quite rare in this kind of story to hear the victim say “it’s not my fault” and actually have him be right. Not as bad as BigPoss’s Sheila (would fatten him straight to death and then claim his soul to keep going; she’s les, though), but I still think Mace is due for serious prison time if anyone else finds out about that hex.
Come to think of it, you never said the phones were off the hook or anything. And you did say Mace went to work. Couldn’t Mai have just called the cops or something?

Not what I was expecting from a “fattened against their will” scenario, but interesting. I sort of like the idea of more physical barriers keeping the victim from leaving, but otherwise giving them free reign of their prison. The draw being that, the longer they’re in there, the fatter they get, the harder it gets for them to even make escape attempts.
