That forest seems no different from any other from the outside. Old growth towers over the younger trees as they bend and twist to find the light. Birds circle the lake looking to fish. It looks just like any other forest… but it is unlike any other. Something about the atmosphere is heavy and foreboding, alien and unknown. A mist clings to the lake and never seems to clear. Birds do not sing from the forest, and everything remains oddly still. That forest is a part of nature, but nature itself seems to avoid it. It is ancient and old and has been lost to time. No one goes there, for reasons that no one knows. That is where he resides, in the place that no one dares to venture. They say it is cursed, they say there is no returning from those woods. But there is knowledge to be gleamed, and so he went.
Another absolutely stunning piece from the very talented Noxeri. I will never cease to mesmerized by these landscapes. Something about the stylization just speaks to me. The colors work so very well for Orlendr, and they match those from the first piece with him. While it wasn’t intended, it really does feel like this is the same place he was drawn in before, some other part of that ethereal forest.
