I don't think many citizens realize the sacrifices that were and are made so we can live a life of security and privilege. But those who have taken part or put another way experienced it one on one like those in the military know full well and sincerely appreciate it. Samson knows. Sure that is usually reserved for Memorial day but it equally applies to 4th of July as well.
That's why it makes me cringe hard when people complain too far. I still remember when being American was something to be proud of and now people [Americans themselves] want to shame you and the country because it's not squeaky clean perfect.
Would be interesting to see his parents now that you mention it. Or maybe Samson as a little kitten!
