I personally have no issue with gender, though mostly I prefer woman feet and paws. Personality and good intention are the things what can melt me in heart. Like here, I also have issue with 'dirty' feet and paws, but Johan's face makes me feel that he has good intention, especially he doesn't force it, which is also very nice of him.
All in one; I like this piece of art, despite the dirty paws, male, and unsuccessful attempt, because Johan looks a nice and polite guy with good intention, and Nick (you) and Johan seem getting along anyway, which is cool!

Interesting fact - Johan was originally supposed to be a rude macro bully, but it turned out that he is not a bad guy in general and can be very cute :3 Also, Nick is afraid of situation when due to a prolonged absence of gf he may eventually say: "*sigh* well, one time doesn't count as gay..." and it'll be a m/m porn with feet worship and lots of cum in shorts XD

I absolutely agree with you and Johan that he (Johan) is more than paws! More than a 'pleasure-toy'! He is a person, most likely to me a cool person, who has feeling! I have no intention to hurt feelings, especially nice people's feelings! If he wants me keep within only social interaction I'm respectfully and gladly do it!
Anyway! There are lots of possible things can be done together and still feel good! Like; talk, lend a hand to help him for example spring house cleaning, talk about a movie or book he also watched or read, shopping together, play video games together, share past life experiences... lots of things he could be cool with!
I'm also happy to know you also care about other's and see them beyond than 'toys'. I somehow assumed that you must be that person who also cares!

Yeah, for Nick it's important to control himself and separate friendship or social communication from his passion for feet/paws, so he prefers to be just buddies with guys even if someone has really nice pair of stompers (here on FA we've seen enough examples). Nick's lust for feet is a sacred thing that he would like to share only with the woman he loves. I don’t think that if Nick broke his rules and used Johan’s paws to satisfy his sexual need Johan's feelings would be crushed, after all it was his own initiative to put paws on Nick, but it would have been a very awkward situation and I can't imagine how they would look at each other after that :/

I think I absolutely understand your confusion. Being loyal to the 'only loved one' is a beautiful thing! But, where is the actual border which shouldn't not be passed or else it is betrayal? Yes. I'm also unsure the whereabouts this border. I don't mind what borders others pass, because if they're happy with it, then who am I to judge? But my own case?! Me is much more confusing me.
I only hope I may find that 'border of mine', so one less mystery would be in my life. I also may not be alone from that day on.
