Bertram Softbottom is a wealthy halfling man that runs the Penny and Sphinx, the largest and most esteemed bank in The Coins district in Absalom. He's a jovial, excited man who is all too happy to chat with his patrons. He has an adopted dwarven son, Colo, who he loves dearly. He also loves sandwiches dearly, and it is difficult to tell which he loves more to be perfectly honest.

His personal assistant, a heavily pregnant gnoll woman, keeps an emergency sandwich in a cooler under her table to calm his nerves or keep him out of everyone's way in case anything happens.

Despite his mirthful image, he is a bit of a cheapskate. Despite being the largest bank in the city, his only guard is his heavily pregnant personal assistant. His son had been working as a janitor for him, but recently had his hours cut significantly due to not really needing to have the building cleaned as often, though it should be noted that his allowance is still more than most people make in a month.

Recently his establishment has been targeted by vandals, and was one of 3 banks believed to be potential targets of a bank robbery. A ladder was found set up near an unlocked side entrance, implying that there could be a inside man. Colo's whereabouts are unknown and he is the prime suspect due to his recent wage cut.

As an eccentric, round little man, I am naturally drawn to Softbottom. So I drew him. I ended up saving out 4 different versions of him in various states of dress. Boots and Suit are separate because I'm partial to the aesthetic of bare paws.
