AFTER A LONG TIME and many commissions I had realized that I needed to address some issues with my original ref sheet. Though Teaparties gave me everything I had asked for and more with my original ref (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48072559/) I realized there were things present that I didn't realize would get picked up on and ran with.

For this, I wanted to really express that Penelope is a twiggy thing. She's got no figure whatsoever. Every now and again someone would try and make her super curvy and it just wasn't my thing :x

Also I wanted to address that her eyelashes are naturally white, everyone was copying the way Teaparties did eyelashes which looked like everyone was putting her in makeup, which isn't something that's BAD but...literally no one opted to do otherwise XD

ALSO I wanted to stress that her ears are super floppy and don't stick out under their own weight! People were constantly making her ears pop out to the sides and it bothered me :x SURE it can happen if she's in motion and they're being flopped around, but it isn't the constant.
...I really did let Kiwi go a little overboard on just how big Penelope's ears are here though >.> Usually I say they fall between her shoulder blades and her mid-back.

Lastly I wanted to take another shot and trying to explain her eyes, and to give a little bit of lore for her character! Her eyes to this day are still the most confusing part of her character that even some people that have been drawing her for years don't really implement correctly. I still think I can improve on eye clarity for her, but I've yet to really come up with a great way to illustrate it.

Also, I really wanted to get more art from Kiwi! I had actually been holding out for Catling for a long while for the new ref, but she's quite busy and it just never lined up. Thankfully Kiwi was open around the time I reached my breaking point and her adorable style fits Penelope SO well!

Personally, though I favor this one, I still really like the original ref. It's funny how there are things that people subconsciously pick up on things that you don't even think of when getting something like this done. I'm sure in a few years time I'll be drumming up ideas for a new one with even better ideas to capture her look!
