Mercury has a huge god complex, in fact it is his goal to become one. He has no contact with his celestial grandparent, probably not much with his aasimar parents either. He decided quite early that the "good" path was not for him. So he found himself a wildfire spirit and made it his familiar.

The main villain I created to be used in my campaign I was running in 2019, sadly never got to him before we took a break.
But Lazarus is somewhat a mad scientist, sent from another more advanced world to this more high fantasy one, to seek out a new energy source. The world he comes from has grown to big and is quickly running out of power to be sustained.
In this world, he with the help of Naxim (the next one on this list) finds out that you can harness the different gods powers into actual energy. And after the test run goes to absolute shit, Naxim dies, Lazarus swears to rid the worlds of gods by absorbing their powers, for both his world but also to find a way to bring Naxim back.

Race: Half orc, half human
Class: Cleric, Death Domain
Background: Acolyte
Alignment: True Neutral/ Neutral Evil

Born into a group of orcs following the god Yurtrus, Naxim early on knew the path for them. He quickly climbed the ranks of the clerics, being very devoted and ruthless.
Their magic is basically made up of posion, diseases and generally yuckiness. He loves to see enemies suffer, and during those moments really comes alive personality-wise. Manic laughing, taunting etc. Normally Naxim is pretty relaxed, uncaring and bored.
Dont want to out them, but I feel like representation is important, so just want to mention that Naxim was born into the wrong body, and has changed their name later in life. They dont know their human father, only that he was a traveling bard.
... Also Naxim is currently dead. )': Hopefully wont stay that way though, in case Lazarus succeeds his mission!

Cenric was born into the cult of the Kraken, and sees his patron as a goddess sent to clear the world of wrongness. If you need to find a person that defines the words devoted to obsession, it would be this man. His whole life revolved around his mistress. Well, part of it also has long honed in on Llyr, the chosen, first Warlock of his beloved goddess. Cenric is much to blame for Llyr's grooming and brainwashing, as he early took the role as friend and mentor to the younger boy. This also later twisted into an obsession, were he sees Llyr as an extension of his mistress, a bodily form to get closer to her.
He is a cold-hearted person when it comes to anyone else, doesn't hesitate to kill, torture or maim anyone that gets in the way, actually he quite enjoys it. He doesn't really have a life outside of the cult, nor does he want it, he loves where he is.
Perhaps he has secret depths, but has yet to tell them to me.
