Trust is the foundation of relationships. But once it gets broken, it can never be whole again.

Most of these have hit me rather hard. I suppose that means you have done well in representing the concepts in art form. Kudos.

I feel what you're saying/implying, 100%.
For myself, every relationship I have is measured by what degree of 'Trust' I can give to another. If they show it's earned/respected/warranted, then those (very few) people become life-long friends (provided they don't later change their minds, and start abusing it!).
When I was younger I tried to give people far more trust at the start than they ever deserved, and got burned/hurt for it time-and-time-again. I suppose that's 'Life' and one of the harsh lessons we must learn in experiencing it.
Now I dole out 'Trust' based on a 50/50 system. Meet folks halfway and see how thing to from there.

Sometimes I have a hard time trusting myself.

Had mine, and I'm not afraid to say this, completely raped and tossed aside. I have extreme trust issues to the point even people who I consider close friends I doubt when they say anything to me

Over 6 years I had my trust broken over and over, resulting in a divorce not even half a year after marriage. You can only break trust so much before all that is left is dust...

Humans are idiots, always were. The important part is that once in a while they aren't! Personal perspective: give trust freely, with a backup plan if they aren't there. A lot of the time it ends up being that they got held up, sometimes they just didn't want to. If it doesn't work, they don't get to do the thing, and I get to move on with some project I was going to do anyway.

Trust is very hard to come by lately. At least real trust that you can always believe in is. Its kind of hard to expand your circle when your own view on trust is very fragile...

It's worth keeping in mind that most people are doing the best they can with what they've got. There are a lot of broken people out there.

It could easily be me in that picture. It goes on long enough, you get tired of putting yourself back together.

Trust is a thing you don't let other people touch casually. If you're passing it around irresponsibly, it can end up like this. ...Which is why you try not to do so.
