I changed the button quail baby's name to Darwin Jr, after his father... since I now know it's a boy!
Of course you can see how big DJ has gotten... but you can also see his right leg is messed up. Starting going like that at about a week old. No idea why. When he is full size I am going to see if my vet can amputate the leg so he can move better.

he's too small to do anything. it's not broken or out of joint, it is literally growing wrong. so no surgery would do anything at this point. he isn't in pain it just is in his way. And at his size taking the leg off now would probably kill him. Little things, birds in general actually, don't do well under anesthesia.
