During her period of redemption and adaptation to life on earth, Blackfire underwent hard training in order to master her powers as well as to be able to work in a team without having to act solo and/or endanger the team by acting like a hothead, she had to be accompanied by a team member but it was often her sister who volunteered in case one of her friends was busy doing something important that should not be interrupted.

In order to avoid Blackfire being tempted again to turn to the dark side by betraying the group (especially after what happened in season 2 with Terra), she had to accept to be firmly bound/ gagged once a day for 3 hours by Robin, Changelin, Cyborg, Raven or her sister without the slightest reluctance because it was one of the conditions required for her rehabilitation and to become soon the sixth member of the Teen titans. To prevent her from escaping by not respecting the rule, she had to wear an electronic necklace made by Cyborg capable of inhibiting her powers and making her as helpless as an earthling. This wasn't easy to accept but it was the price to pay to be able to gain the trust of her partners and especially to regain the trust of Starfire, of which she must be an example as a big sister.

After having had 3 hours of aerial training to use her powers effectively and then a martial arts fight against Robin, Blackfire had to undergo her therapy while being bound/gagged and took advantage of this moment to relax in her bedroom, her muscles were so solicited to fight effectively by mixing techniques of karate, taekwondo, krav-maga, kung-fu and capoeira that they were quite sore.
