Rolf Crawford, son of the once wealthy and famous Raskas werewolf family. The family owned a lot of land, but got into a conflict with with another family who happened to be venators (licensed hunters of Raskas). As a result of heated relations and endless mutual threats, one night the venators went to the Crawfords and set their estate on fire, disposing of those who tried to resist.
Rolf, along with his sister Tori, fled in a panic, long thinking they were the only survivors.
