Been stuck here while I wait for the plowing guy to arrive and dig us out (I have a bad arm and until it heals I can barely shovel), and I've been meaning to do this for a while, so...I knocked off a quick refsheet of my actual real live cat Ember. :) She's a Munchkin kitty, so her legs are really really short (I may have actually made them too long for the ref, oh well) but that doesn't mean she can't run, jump, climb and play like a normal cat! :)
She is hearing impaired, due to a lifetime of ear infections from her former life before I adopted her...but that doesn't stop her from being absurdly sweet and friendly. She's the most outgoing cat I've ever known, just a total sweetheart. :)

I knoooow! XD Ironically she was in the shelter for a whole year, nobody wanted her! D: She's got some health issues but nothing major, and she's so awesome...she walks on a leash like a dog, and she's comfortable everywhere. Nothing like taking your cat to PetSMART on a leash and having your cat act better on said leash than a puppy training class! XD

Ironically it was her colour that caught my eye...I was walking through the shelter's cat room with someone else who was adopting a cat, I wasn't there to adopt...and I saw her and she looked exactly like my poor deceased kitty, Shadow. I was so shocked...she was even in the little kittyloaf position, feet tucked under her. I asked to meet her and when they handed her to me, I realized she had like almost no legs!!!
She was so super-sweet, I adopted her. :) She was in rough shape when I got her, the shelter hadn't really done anything about her health problems (she apparently had an ear infection that lasted YEARS, and caused severe hearing loss, for example) but now she's recovering nicely and her ears are infection-free. :) Good food and a loving home have done wonders for her! :)

Ugh, Munchies are so PERFECT. Our roommate had one (a little dump of a siamese) and he was wonderful and his meow sounded like he was a smoker. If that makes sense.
She looks SUPER cute - I mean, being a cat already qualifies that. Being a munchkin just adds a few extra adorables in on it. <3

I know of two here in my area that went through rescues...my Ember, and another cat named Shorty. He took months to find a good home, people around here don't seem to like kitties that aren't "normal." :P There's a number of Munchies on Petfinder, too. :)

Aww, thank you! :) Maybe keep an eye on your local shelters and rescues, I've now seen two Munchies in rescues this past year alone, and where I live almost nobody has even heard of them. Maybe the perfect Munchkin will show up in a shelter, ready to be your pet! :) Worked well for Ember and I, LOL! She got a home, I got a Munchkin! :D
