History
Like the mythic giants of old, Jù Shǔ is an enormous version of Shàonǚ the sorceress. An already skilled lightweight wrestler in the Manchu and Mongol traditions, when Shàonǚ transforms into Jù Shǔ she becomes a nigh unstoppable force. The sorceress is less keen to use the ability in more modern times, given the unwanted attention it would bring in many ways. She would more frequently use this transformation in the past to protect the weak from the overpowering strength of others, ranging from single giants to whole armies.
When transformed, Shàonǚ gains the allegorical "size and strength of the mountain," though this strength is equal to many of the mountain dragon clans of central China, from whom she got this ability through the red Mountain Ring, Shān (山). In this state, Shàonǚ is rendered invulnerable except to only the strongest attacks via magic or advanced science. The limits of her strength are not currently known, but she is often considered on par with demigods. The cost of these immense advantages, however, is the use of her other magical abilities. While in her Jù Shǔ form, Shàonǚ cannot control air or water or create illusions.
When she is in the form of Jù Shǔ, Shàonǚ's clothing, regardless of what she was wearing before, is transformed into traditional Chinese and Mongolian clothing. The bottom part is known as a shuudag, a common sort of wrestler's briefs that prevent opponents from having long pants to pull on and gives greater mobility to the wrestler. The top part is a dudou, a traditional women's garment that is similar to a camisole and was once worn before the invention of brassieres. Even these are mystically tied to Shàonǚ and can only be untied by her.
Shàonǚ's scepter, "The Dragon's Fang" is also transformed into an enlarged meteor hammer called "The Dragon's Fists." The chain mystically extends to almost any length that Jù Shǔ needs it to strike distant targets at range. The chain is also a devastating scythe that can cut through obstacles and bind or anchor targets.
