Hee-Ho, howdy everyone- today I got more soft, sweet and cute art to share. This time around? It's Thomza being viciously attacked by his group of Kobolds with them snuggling him. Now if you might've noticed, Thomza is usually around a whole lot of different kobolds. Let it be the almost dragon-like Alpha Fruit Kobold Ayvil, The Scalebold maid who is a queen, Kelly- Or even the great warriors of the chosen. All of them usually calling him husband or their partner despite being a deity-like entity. He of course also loves all of them equally and tries his best to spend as much time as he can with them before he has to go back to his deity duties. There's of course a lore reason for that that I have only briefly touched upon. The idea of Scalebolds or even Fruit Kobolds being monogamous is a pretty foreign idea in their society. It's something they briefly took after from Plantarans, but did not like the idea of one Kobold taking one person all for themselves, but did like the idea of the dedication aspect.
Kobolds even at a base level are incredibly social creatures forming massive social webs with one another that intertwine and weave into a tapestry. However, they will usually mark one, two or three people down as their partners and share that person with other kobolds. (They do not exceed the amount of three partners.) It's why you'll see Ayvil with Captain PiK and Thomza, but Freya is with Thomza and Tia. Or characters like Kelly who have only Thomza and nobody else. With Thomza's main and even first partner being a Tiamat he is not entirely foreign to the idea of having multiple partners. Not to mention he is not a Kobold himself, but is a Maskless (even if disguised as Human) and is able to share multiple romantic interests with an extreme vast amount of others at the same time. It is also totally not uncommon for Kobolds to hardly even interact with other partners of their chosen person. However, when a large group of kobold partnership is formed it is simply known as a "Barracks." As this is a form of polyamory as Kobolds can be heavily linked to one another.
Although there's a few exceptions as not every single kobold follows these rules. There are characters such as Ebony and Elric as they follow monogamy. Then there are kobold love "trios" that exist which are groups of four. (Heavily misleading.)
Other than that? I got nothing else to say past that and wanted to do a deep dive into some lore and how their relationships work. Have a good day everyone!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system.
