Averie was asleep, nest to their boyfriend while not thinking too much about anything. Only then to wake up from bright lights, soon discovering several orbs floating to the sky. A mountain was in distance and the meadow they stood on was lush. Their turquoise eyes couldn't help but first squint, and then welling up with tears as they recognize the silhouette close to them.
"M-Morri? Is...is that you?"
The faint orange spirit approached them with a gentle smile. Seconds passed by, Averie couldn't bring out a word, but eventually they ran towards their sister. Morri widened her arms open, draping those over her twin sibling as they burst into tears.
"I'M SORRY, MORRI! I'M SORRY! It...it's my fault! I...I..."
Morri placed her paw over her twin's head as she caressed their fur, humming a soothing tone as she tried to calm Averie down.
"Shhh...Avie...I'm not blaming you for my death. What happened was not your fault. It was the driver."
Averie's paw was gently hold by their sister as both let go from the hug, tears still running down from their cheek.
"But...all these things I said to you...all these awful words. I'm...I'm sorry for saying those...I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed me...I..."
The orange grumpus got quickly silenced.
"No more apologies, Avie. I...I already forgave you."
The twins bowed, so that their foreheads touched, while still holding each other's paws.
"Avie...I have felt your pain after my death. I wanted to be here for you...but I couldn't. But now..." the spirit smiled as she wiped away the tears from her twin. "You found new friends...you reconciled with our Dad. I forgive you...the others forgive you...the only one left who needs to forgive you...is yourself."
The floaty orbs shone in beautiful, bright colours as they passed by, giving off a calming atmosphere.
"I want you to be happy, Avie." Morrigen said. "I want you to live your life...and do the best out of it. Cherish your time with your loved ones...and with your beloved." She chuckled when Averie blushed slightly. "I can see he is a good grumpus. You're in good paws. Take care of each other."
Afterwards the spirit placed a paw over Averie's chest, where her heart is, and smiled once more. "I'll be here with you, Avie, even if you can't see me."
The world around Averie was starting to fade. Morrigen hugged her sibling one more time, which they reciprocated.
"Farewell, Morri." Averie whispered to their sister.
"Farewell, Avie." she responded. "We will see each other again one day."
Moments later Averie woke up in the bed, running a paw over their cheek, which felt wet from the tears. They quickly glanced to Filbo, who was still asleep, an arm draped over the orange grumpus. Averie sighed quietly, nuzzling the cyan grumpus as they tried to fall back asleep.
I...promise to live my life. We will see each other again one day, Morri.
