Long before Peter Parker became Spider-Man in Spectacular Spider-Man, he was being victimized by the high school bully Flash Thompson and no one had the audacity to stand up for him except for Gwen Stacy who was always revolted by the pathetic attitude of this brainless jerk who took great pleasure in preying on the weak, and once had the courage to report all the worst horrors he committed to Peter in the Midtown high school newspaper.
Unfortunately, what Gwen didn't know was that by doing this she would incur the hatred of Flash who decided to take his revenge on her in a particularly sadistic way by waiting until she was done spending her time in the science lab on Friday afternoon where he put her to sleep with chloroform making sure she wasn't seen so that his plan would work out just as he had planned.
When she woke up, Gwen realized to her horror that she had been securely bound/gagged in the hallway and placed near her locker. She was locked in the school and forced to stay that way until the weekend was over and she was deprived of her cell phone.
