Randomly felt like releasing the second version of the Ground Destruction Geo Node today.
Requires Blender 3.3+
Don't remember everything I changed from the first version, but now it has a makeshift shrinkwrap system for uneven ground (No ridiculous shapes like mountains or planets yet), dynamic thickness to let internal emissions work in Cycles, a Save UVs option for more detailed textures, and is simpler/faster overall.

I've also been trying to get a 3.5 version with fake Dynamic Paint for simpler controls, recursive subdivisions for more detail where needed, and comparing against the previous frame for automatic smoke particles.
