As the final rune was etched into place, the entire circle began to glow. Violet energy streamed up from the circle, lending a brilliant purple glow to everything in the room. The quill, strange as it had always been, yanked itself free of his grasp and flew to hover of the exact center of the circle, spinning in place. To it the energy flowed, collapsing onto the ancient writing instrument until all was a single point of light. Then it expanded, blinding bright as it took shape. When the light finally dimmed enough to look again, there was an entity standing in the circle. Draconic in nature, slender in form, the creature stood tall. Smooth, violet skin covered its body, fading to yellow on the chest and belly. Vibrant, violet, feathered wings stretched out to either side. It stood on two legs, arms hanging loosely at its sides, a long tail with a feather spade tip that looked oddly like the quill curved lightly around its form. It's triangular head was decked with two yellow horns and a cascade of long, purple feathers that sparkled like stars on the underside. A light smirk graced the delicate face, yellow eyes glinting with youthful curiosity and ancient knowledge. Maybe a touch of playfulness.

"Well, it's been some time since I was finally allowed out I've been watching, though." The ancient, dragon-like creature stepped forward as the circle on the ground finally faded. "I know what you are looking for, and you won't find it this way, but you may ask anyway. I have many names, but you may simply call me the Starteller."

Several months ago I became interested in the egg adopts of  origami-orange and finally decided to buy this rather fancy quill pen. With the answer of a few quick questions, they made for me this beautiful, hermaphroditic dragon. I'm still working out the details of exactly how the Starteller works into the lore of my fantasy world. I know he is an ancient entity, older even than the dragons, themselves, and quite powerful. One of many such entities sent by Heaven to help guide and watch over the universe, the Starteller overstepped his purpose and interfered a little too much. For his actions he was trapped within a quill and made to watch the universe evolve without his hand until the day that he could understand the value and beauty of the mortal races and the importance of free will. Should he be freed, he will take his place once again, but this time with a little more focus on keeping things balanced and a little less determination to make it in his own image.

Side note: He doesn't really care what pronouns you use for him. She uses all of them interchangeably. They all apply equally to them.
