The white thing in the middle. I think its what's called Staghorn Algae. Never seen it before.
This is a no maintenance tank. I rarely ever add food and the water is not heated or mechanically filtered. Pretty much started it with a clump of algae, aquatic grass and leaves from a nearby pond. Also added aquatic plants from my main fish tank, though most died. The Bladder Snails appeared on their own, which is what I was hoping for. Kinda calming just watching them do their thing. Bladder Snails are so interesting to watch. I'll get into some of their tricks later if I can get good pictures. Also have added Cherry Shrimp and red Ramshorn snails for more variety
Had a big Mystery Snail in here at one point, and it died without me noticing. And when a big snail dies its basically a big nitrogen bomb. Not a big deal if its a populated tank with creatures that can eat it. But this is a small tank with only a few bladder snails at the time. Well that created a big Algae bloom, and its basically been an algae tank ever since, lol. Every so often I'll cut out some, but it always grows back. To be clear I wanted algae. I actually like algae, and it filters the water and puts out oxygen. Just wish there wasn't so much. Also none of the animals touch the thread algae for some reason.
