My attempt at a piano solo rendition of the theme tune to a short-lived but fun game show form 1988, Blackout. The game features two contestants, each paired with a celebrity. Contestants attempt to solve word puzzles consisting of a sentence or short paragraph with four blank spaces. Players guess each missing word based on hearing clues recorded by their partner, but with the playback being muted or "blacked out" at certain places by their opponent.

Bob Goen hosted the program, with Johnny Gilbert announcing, and Jay Stewart (best known for announcing shows hosted by the late but great Monty Hall) substituting; this would end up being Jay's last TV job before his own death in 1989.

Blackout is unique in that the show that it replaced, The New $25,000 Pyramid, was the very show that replaced it (although this was just a temporary fix; CBS was preparing to launch a new version of Family Feud, hosted by Ray Combs, as Mark Goodson was unwilling to work with Richard Dawson).

Wouldn't it be nice if all of us actually had a blackout button?
