About time I make a reference sheet for an OC that isn't Kail or Ruby and had since my Miiverse days. Anywho, with that said...

Calder is a brash, eccentric jellyfish who has a tendency to be blasphemous and they will often use these traits to deflect criticism, insults, and side-step responsibility. Calder tends to switch between playful and destructive as they feel like it, and their humor tends to be crass and filled with pop culture references as they know that they’re just a fictional character. They come and go as they please and they are bit of a rule breaker as Calder doesn’t understand the function of rules and mandates in general as someone from the ocean. Unless of course they makes them up themselves.

Calder’s always referred to with they/them pronouns as they have no gender. Calder is approximately @$#%!*^? years old despite having a voice of a person in their 20’s. They have little knowledge about most aspects that humans do, say their culture, social aspects, etc. but frankly, Calder has very little interest in humans. Excluding those that they trust, Calder doesn’t really like humans or anything that doesn’t live in water. They even have their own nickname for them too; surface dwellers as they refer to them as.

If a person were to get stung by them, Calder has a venom that, while painful, can be enough to kill them in two or five minutes (give or take) in as Calder's loosely based on the box jellyfish in the real world but they’re more so more inspired by bioluminescent jellyfish in general hence the yellow lights on their body that are able to glow. Though thankfully, Calder is able to control whether he can sting or not.

The yellow spots on Calder’s body are actually lights and they're able to hypnotize people if they look directly at them when they glow. Calder also has the ability to conjure up bubbles much like the Popplio line in the Pokémon series. Their main hobby is cooking food for either their restaurant and the people they considers friends and as well hanging out with said people. And by using a spell (yeah, they are able to use magical powers), they can breathe on land just fine much like in the first Spongebob movie and because Calder is a jellyfish, he has to float right up to the person's height. Also since Calder is a chef, they usually like to serve people their cooking but since he doesn't understand humans or life that aren't their deep sea customers capable to have huge eating capabilities, they'll serve their guests a bit more than they can chew. And since they don't take money, or "land dweller currency" as they call it, their currency are rare blue scallop seashells.

Their head-canon voice would be either Kellen Goff or Alex Hirsch as characters like Bill Cipher and Funtime Freddy were the major inspiration for Calder's personality and quirks. Just minus the sadistic and masochist behavior. Oh, and same with Discord from MLP too.
