When I landed in Pittsburgh for Anthrocon, I took an escalator down to a lower level in the airport...and I came upon this sign.

Welcome to Pittsburgh, Anthrocon!

I finally made it! I've finally taken the steps to go to Pittsburgh and Anthrocon! This is a rite of passage for me, perhaps not just for my place in the furry fandom, but in my maturing as part of life.

I've done this trip, much like Furnal Equinox and Furry Weekend Atlanta entirely on my own, my own funding, my own means of transportation, my own resolution of any issues, my own hotel reservation-everything. And it's all been pretty revealing and rewarding.

I am proud and happy to be here and to be part of this fandom and family!
