How did you learn to paint food so well? Just lots of photo studies?
I dream of being able to paint food like this!

def studies, but having the mindset of less = more really helps
the more you can break down the food to its basic colors and shape, the more solid the overall thing will look
once a solid shape is blocked out, its easier to add details, vs trying to too much detail off the bat and everything getting muddy and not looking how we wanted

if you look at a lot of these foodies, the food colors themselves are blocked bold shapes and shadow, which makes details like gloss, powder of light bounce seem extra sharp
