Ash pictures as promised! I’ve had him on Instagram for the longest time but I don’t use it anymore so I’m tired of having to log back in to link to him.

This doll was… a journey, to say the least. Started out as a gen 3 Lagoona, repainted to be a fusion of gen 1 and 3. Loved her, was really proud of her, but within about a month, I realised I just wasn’t connecting with her, something didn’t click. Tried to sell her but no bites, so I ended up stripping everything and planning to make a sort of white porcelain china with blue detailing femboy doll as I’d seen done beautifully before, had problems with the white paint, got fed up AGAIN and then I made a little demon guy one day in class in a paper doll app, and decided to make something similar. And that’s how we got Ash! Sculpted his ears, chest was already sanded down, slapped some red paint on him (which didn’t go opaque on his legs which is why he wears knee socks 😆) and did his face while waiting for a wig to arrive. While waiting for the wig though, I realised he actually looked kind of cute with just the painted black scalp, so I thought. Hm. What if I just flock his head. And i did and i loved it and he was adorable and he’s one of my favourite dolls, and definitely my favourite custom. I’m still trying to find the motivation to make him a little tail but I just can’t be bothered going out of the way to get fabric and sew it (which is also why his outfit is cobbled together from RH, Creatable World, and MH).

He was also subconsciously inspired by Dollightful’s doll Ember — their names being related was a TOTAL coincidence!! 💕
