Just lots of sling stuff in real life recently! And of course a lot of drek related practice that has been goin on so here is one more drek slinger coming to break your windows. More of that "Drek figure 8" throw, bit strange of a style but I think it works well for their body!
Slings are also a very common weapon amongst the drekir, as common as things like atlatls, javelins, darts, etc. They are incredibly easy to make and can be made out of a variety materials. While difficult to use accurately drekir tend to have nothing but time to figure it out and tend to develop a lot of different styles of how to use a sling. And the munitions range from free (nice rocks) to a pretty light amount of effort and resources to make it (pecked stone/clay/metal glandes). They can even be used to deliver charged "manatovs" of various sizes.
Their versatility and "cheap cost" tends to result in them appearing across a massive variety of drekir cultures for hunting, warfare, and sometimes artistic/ceremonial related things. Particularly considering the difficulty of other missile weapons like bows (not impossible... but more niche for drekir) Makes slings a pretty common sight.
And also a Seattlen, mostly the sling is inspired by slings from that region from indigenous peoples in the Pacific Northwest and one that gets picked up by many of the local groups like the Seattlens, Dogwoods, Yutlengit to the north, and the Porlin to the south, etc. Though I am sure their slings would prolly be a bit shorter considering the cramped forest environments most find themselves in.
But regardless sorry about your windows

Yeah I've had one in a pocket or on a pack, or looped around a belt loop for years. Modern paracord slings can literally just be haphazardly jammed in a pocket and even the more thickly braided slings I still don't have a problem carrying just about anywhere. Always fun to find a nice place to chuck some rocks in! Just keep practicing it will never be perfect (even after some 7 years I still miss at least half the time at 30 meters at a fairly largish target)
Honestly just throwing rocks with the rope is good enough for me at least half of the time
And thanks!
