Spot has gone off to be with Mother Nature. She'll give him new teeth, and he can chase all the birds and bunnies he wants.
When we realized on Wednesday it needed to be done, I acted on a desire I'd had at the beginning of august when I'd worried we were going to need to.
I used all of the saved up Artist Reward Points I had with
Henyoki from the last three months, and asked if she could draw a picture with my fursona saying goodbye to him asap.
She created a picture that touched my heart, and will be another way I shall remember Spot.
He's the last pet we've had right now. I feel hollow and empty. He was gone so quickly. The vet hadn't even finished giving him the final shot before she felt a need to check.
I got Spot as a late christmas present back in 2009 or 2010. He was a stray that lived in the trailer park and was sort of rotating around the houses. One weekend home, I saw him and thought he was adorable and fed him and pet him on our porch outside. He was very friendly and talkative. Later, after Christmas, my mom found him on the porch one night meowing at the door. She told him if she let him in, he couldn't go back outside. And that if he came in, he'd get shots and fixed. He just strolled on in and sprawled on the floor. Next day, it snowed quite a bit. Mom told me he looked very, very smug.
By the Father, Mother, and Son, may you rest in peace, Spot Spotticus Spottingham III. I will miss you, but I shall never, ever forget you.
