If there's something wrong with your posting schedule (to me it seems like everything keeps going normal about your cool art posts, being just a little slower than usual doesn't mean something is wrong sweet pie😉) now it's all 100% fixed thanks to your new beautiful illustrated painting "Wandering winds" for lovely FirJacQ 🧡
The nature often surprises us with the fast and sudden changes of weather, but for an experienced coyote like this gorgeous female, detecting the wandering winds that are quickly advancing is nothing more than a simple joke. She can always admire how the clouds are running in a precise direction and filling the blue sky with their lightnings, before she has to come back safe in her den. I suppose she just can't resist the feeling of the wind blowing through her fur before every coming thunderstorm haha 😙👍
Once again you've brought to life a masterpiece that so much deserves to be exposed in every art museum, so everyone will forever enjoy all the unique, breathtaking details you put into your inspiring and impressive drawings. My bows and applauses to you dear foxpie! :D 👏💕

I wonder how you can render so well! It's truly intriguing and inspirational.
Question: Do you shade/render the fur with grayscale first, or do you do the shading/fur with the color in?
Or, do you do it in an entirely different way? I'm just curious, as I've been struggling to shade fur for months now :c

Thank you ^^
I think - shading/fur with the color in
I would say that I immediately do it in color, but here I put color on a non-color sketch that is in the original ych, which helps me with lighting, and then I work on everything else. usual I prefer to stick "from dark to light" rule

I use different methods, thanks to this I do not get tired of drawing :"D Try everything and different, and you will definitely understand what will be more comfortable for you
ps here you can see one way how I do fur

You're welcome! I believe you were one of the first artists I watched here on FA. I've loved your work since <3
Yeah! I see many artists start in color, but it's very difficult for me for some reason. Something about rendering fur is very tedious and hard. Colors/shades like white and black are really hard for me to work with :c
I'd shade on grayscale to help with my values (adding the volumes and mood before the fur), and when I'd add like black.. all that work kinda goes out the window hah. The same is with white.
I am currently okayish with longer fur, but short fur, like that on the muzzle of a wolf, is extremely difficult to get right.
Thank you for the update. I appreciate it~
I may take a lookie at your techniques in the video too. And, I'll probably look at other videos and references too. It's definitely something very hard to do
