Been asked a few times about how Street Rat might turn out growing up. Cuz as long he stays in the Cirkus he won't age and thus stays a kid.
That said, Cirkus comes with plenty a different timelines depending on how you play its game. Each having an influence on a possible future of growing up for the young urchin. Some for better, some for worse.

In a way, yeah. Rat's view of the Cirkus is distorted by the childlike wonder and innocence he holds, matching up with the Ringmaster's view of it. The Ringmaster never intended to turn his circus into a horrorific nightmare dreamscape, but in his mind it's still just his dream of a successful circus to never end its show.
They share the dream of a perfect circus, not seeing the horrors it puts others through. The Ringmaster's ambition and denial, and Rat's innocence and wonder.
