This is fake news, breaking spaghetti in half reason why it triggers Italians it's because if you the pot has the size for it, breaking in half not only is useless but you even lose a bit of spaghetti.

if the pot is too small or you simply want to eat shorter spaghetti, breaking the spaghetti in half is fine.
