Cinderace tastes its own flames in defeat!
It was supposed to be another normal day in the forest for Cinderace; the Fire-type rabbit had spent his whole day training their legs in order to launch more powerful kicks. The trees around Cinderace were scarred with various burn marks from ample use of his Pyro Ball attack, but now that the sun was setting, the fire rabbit was winding down and getting ready to stop for the day. However, he had one more kick in him before he stopped for the day.
One particular tree had so far escaped being hit by Pyro Ball, a large one that had somehow managed to escape Cinderace’s notice. Now, however, he figured that it would be a great way to cap off the training session…especially if he put everything he had into the kick. Hopping from one foot to the other, Cinderace braced himself and conjured a ball of fire beneath his foot. He dribbled it, hopping from foot to foot again to build up momentum on the ball before he kicked it upward. Spinning around to build up even more power, the top of Cinderace’s foot slammed into the Pyro Ball and shot it straight towards the trunk of the tree.
He watched, grinning, as the fireball shot towards the tree…only for his Pyro Ball to be intercepted by another leg, covered in red feathers. Cinderace didn’t even have the time to respond before his own Pyro Ball was rebounding off of the newcomer’s leg and flying back towards him. It hit him in the stomach, and Cinderace jackknifed around the fireball as his eyes bulged and his cheeks inflated. He barely kept his footing as the Pyro Ball fizzled out, and he doubled over, wheezing. He knew that he’d kicked the Pyro Ball hard, but whoever had intercepted his attack had hit it back a lot harder.
A rapid thumping coming his way made Cinderace look up, only for a mighty, feathered, fiery foot to kick him dead in the face. Cinderace’s cheek rolled up from the hit, forcing his eye shut as well, but with his other, still-open eye he could see his attacker. It was a Blaziken, one that had gotten a running start before Blaze Kicking him directly in the face. Cinderace went flying as Blaziken’s momentum ran out, and he flew further through the air before he slammed into the trunk of a tree. He could feel scorched bark digging into his back, and grit his teeth through both the pain and the irony.
Even as he lifted a paw to rub his scorched, now rapidly-swelling cheek, however, Blaziken was on him again, and Cinderace could only watch as a burning fist came closer and closer to his body before it slammed into his stomach, right on the scorched fur where Cinderace’s Pyro Ball had previously struck him in the gut. Blaziken’s fist sank in deeply and Cinderace’s cheeks once again puffed out as his eyes widened and he jackknifed around the fire bird’s punch.
Cinderace couldn’t breathe as he felt Blaziken nail his stomach to his spine. As his feet came back down to the ground, he draped over Blaziken’s fist like a wet towel as he heard the bird laugh. Cinderace couldn’t even try and get air back in his lungs before he felt his ears be roughly grabbed and pulled on to haul him back up to a standing position, just in time for another Fire Punch to blast into his face, rolling his cheek up once again and pushing his eye shut to boot. As the punch hit Cinderace the Blaziken let go of his ears, allowing him to stagger away from the tree.
Cinderace spun around to face Blaziken as he staggered, wanting to be able to start fighting back, but Blaziken was already in his face, one hand streaking downward as it glowed in a Brick Break attack. It slammed into the top of Cinderace’s head and rattled his brain and senses, and Cinderace wobbled and staggered even more as his vision suddenly went blurry. Blaziken, however, kept up the attack, and Cinderace let his head flop downward just in time to see Blaziken’s fist streaking upward, this time glowing a bright white.
The Sky Uppercut slammed into Cinderace’s chin, driving his head upward and forcing Cinderace to shut his eyes and grit his teeth as his head was slowly pushed further and further upward before, at last, his inertia ran out and Cinderace flew into the air. He couldn’t even try and right himself for a counterattack at this point; between the lack of air in his lungs and his total lack of mental activity due to being stunned from the Brick Break and Sky Uppercut, it was a miracle Cinderace would even still be standing…if he landed on his feet on the ground of course.
He didn’t, and Cinderace let out a pained yelp as he slammed into the ground on his back. Panting to get air into his still-empty lungs, he could only wheeze as he heard the sound of Blaziken’s footsteps. Cinderace could only watch as Blaziken came to a stop to stand over him, smiling cruelly, before he bent down and once again grabbed Cinderace’s ears. Cinderace whimpered in pain as he was pulled upward, back onto his feet, his vision blurry as he tried to keep his footing…only for everything to suddenly go black as Blaziken karate-chopped him in the back of the neck.
With nothing more than a soft wheeze of air, Cinderace fell to his knees, then flat onto his face, his feet flopping upward briefly before coming back down to rest on the ground. Snorting disdainfully, Blaziken took in his victim, his face covered by his floppy ears draping over his head, and then walked away. As the sun set over the trees, CInderace remained in the clearing, utterly unconscious, the only sign of any life from him being the slow rise and fall from his back as he panted weakly and, from time to time, twitched.
