The first (but hopefully not last) piece of art for my in-development fantasy series, drawn by the ever accommodating

These are the male and female examples of a species known as Greater Collavers. Such creatures are commonly takes as pets by the Ilranae (the world's equivalent of elves), both due to their potent magical capabilities - which are an order of magnitude higher than what an Ilran/na could generate on the best day - and because, well, few are willing to tangle with an almost lion-sized predator that also happens to have a speed of a cheetah, and the flexibility and reflexes of a house-cat. They generally live ~50 years, though the oldest on record reached more than twice that age.
