"It was after Anna got put to sleep. The evening after. The feeling that I was now alone without a dog really started to set in. I just got done with my work and decided to hang with Pri and Michael. We sat and chatted for a while before Pri said she was going to bed. I decided to leave, but stopped to hang out on the railing in front of their apartment door. I was alone, thinking about my future when I felt a strong warm hand pressed on my shoulder.
'You okay?'
I turn to find Michael standing behind me. I said I was fine, but not in a convincing way. I asked Michael what was he doing. 'I saw you were outside and just wanted to know if you're doing okay.' All I said was 'oh' before turning to watch the moon. I guess he could tell I was not doing well when he asked 'what's wrong?' I tried to convince him I was fine, but he wouldn't budge. I finally told him that after Anna was put down, I thought I could manage my life alone. But after a while, the feeling of loneliness started to make itself known inside of me. 'Am I alone?' He didn't say a word, but pulled me into a loving friend hug. It was nice, warm, and comforting. And then he reassured me that everything's okay.
'Hey. Listen to me. I know it hurts, but Anna's in a better place now. We're here for you. Everything's going to be fine.'
'You're not alone.'
After I guess 30 minutes, I felt better from his hug and comforting words. 'Thank you for helping me, Michael' was all I could muster. He smiled and gave me a bro hug before heading back inside. I stood there for a bit before leaving. As I head home, I turned towards the heavens and told the good lord the following.
'You must have sent him to me because I needed an angel. Thank you. Thank you for making a friend to everyone, especially to me.'
He's my angel."
I made this as a way to tell myself that I'm not alone. Whether it's with my OCs, family, friends, I'm not alone after losing my dog. Anna's was a good girl and I'll miss her. But, I'm not letting the feeling of loneliness hurt me. Thank you all for being there.Please comment!!!!!Art©KCFoxStudios
