I commissioned
CadmiumTea for this one. Thanks so much, Cadmium!
New character time! Let me introduce you all to Maroochy. She's a both a Tasmanian devil and an indigenous Tasmanian and, knocking on the door of her mid-20s, she's one of the younger of the folks in the cast. Like Jenny, Maroochy has struck out from her homeland to make her way in life, and her travels have taken her across the great distance to the Forest, where she's been for a year or two. Will she settle down and stay, or will she keep rolling along to new destinations and adventures? Time will tell!
Maroochy presently works as a tailor for a local high-end clothing boutique, putting those dexterous devil fingers to use. Her work is aided by her interest in the clothing style of various recent decades, and most people wouldn't guess on first meeting her that she has opinions on the various goings-on in the fashion industry space. It's the source of much friendly banter between her and her boss, who is more of a fine suit and tie traditionalist. Maroochy is happy to design, fit, and alter all sorts of clothes, but doesn't herself prefer to wear the sorts of expensive clothing that she often works on. Lately, she's really been connecting with 90s Seattle grunge.
I'm glad to finally have Maroochy illustrated, and I hope to be able to share more about her soon! Maybe we can even hear from her two partners at some point. ^_~
