Your average biter isn't much of anything compared to any but the youngest and most inexperienced 'wolves.
Older vamps with stronger blood and who know what they're doing can be a problem, but the majority of them never leave their lairs or sanctums, or what-have-you. It's easier to send their slaves and minions to do the nightly dirty work.
Case in point: A side-of-the-road bar in the middle of nowhere is the perfect location for hunting and recruiting. Just enthrall, turn, or kill and replace the staff and you have the perfect trap.
Of course, as shown here, not all trapped are prey.
