I've been rethinking my view of baby doppelgangers. Yes, they have leathery eggs, they're born blind and defenceless. However, I thought such warm-blooded dinosaur-like monsters need fluff as babies.
This is doppelganger who was born a month ago. He has already opened his eyes, his egg tooth is almost gone and he can walk but he still needs parental feeding. How do they feed?
The parents like birds first "carry" the food in their stomachs and then regurgitate it to their cubs. It is only after a few months that the offspring start to eat on their own when their teeth erupt.
