There are 6 spikes (3 curled) that decrease in size towards the tail. The tail has a double layer and is also a hidden pocket. :)
What's unique about my hats is they have an extra fleece hat sewn underneath the crocheted one. For the Iguanodon hat, this is how the spikes can be stuffed and stand up and the nose stick out. Because of the fleece hat, I can make more complicated designs and it's extra warm!!
