Do you know what it's like to try and understand someone, be close to them, want to share experiences, and realize you pale and come up short in their eyes? That you're not their cup of tea when you want to be? Only to be told again and again and again how much better a time they're having with anyone else but you?

It's a lonely path in a dark world. Loneliest of all for those that feel greatly, for their hearts break greatly in turn. It's often a monumental task, sometimes rewarding, other times thankless. But when the sun starts setting each and every night you pray someone will be there to hold you hand as you stare into darkness.

I'm afraid...and the worst of all is knowing they know too. Gently whispering from a distance "Good night and good luck."
