Color theory is really hard, and I can't say I have the best grasp of it honestly. ;3;

Having some sort of color wheel (either in your memory or on paper) is pretty useful, and also you might enjoy this website that Adobe hosts:

You can create your own themes following different color rules, and it's pretty epic~

you can even export the palettes to PS or GIMP, so that's kinda handy. There is another one I saw on my other computer with some based on master artist's paintings, I'll link that to ya sometime if you want it.

I still can't believe these are just speedpaintings. It's just wow....

The solders are maybe a bit too far apart from each other, considering the widght of the ripcage and the overall upped body, in my opinion. The color scheme is nice, simple and well executed. Also This piece has a nice flow/harmony to it - lines and the contour of the form continues constantly (Like the tree trunk and the left legs contour). I Think that composition development would be beneficial for you'r art. In this piece I see only one focus point - the muzzle - and there isn't really any other place for the viewers eyes to linger. Over all a very good speed painting piece
