I am alive! \o/
Sorry for my disappearance, but I really had a lot of stuff to do, and I preferred to just step away from social media for a while in order to focus and be more efficient. I'm currently on holiday, so I might not post as often as before, but I'm officially back nonetheless!
This was an old Drawtober prompt that I never managed to finish, but I really wanted to work on it eventually.
Of course I had to draw Nur and Azad, since they are the most religious ones among my characters, believing in all sorts of gods, spirits, magic and so on. This is all banter in good fun for them, by the way, as neither Nur nor Azad believe their gods to be the only real ones. Other gods from other cultures are just as real for them, and these two sweethearts often pray and make offerings together to appease both of their pantheons.
This was heavily based on a scene from the old Conan the Barbarian movie, by the way

I actually read somewhere that at least in the ancient world around the Mediterranean, a common belief among many cultures, or at least among the Romans was that the gods of other religions existed, as well as their own Greco Roman pantheon. The idea of religions being exclusively True mainly is a product of the fact that monotheistic religions are more dominant across a large geographical section of the world such as Christianity, Judaism and Islam. In religions, like Hinduism and Buddhism Practices similar to believing potentially in multiple religions is still possible. for example, in Japan it is extremely common for people to practice both Shintoism and Buddhism
Any Theologian would tell our bird friend that while they might have been the one that caught the bird in the physical plane, it was surely the guiding hand of (insert appropriate god here) that made the catch possible in the first place! Praise be (insert appropriate god here)!
And I daresay never be sorry for taking a break from social media to get your focus, it's a boiling cesspool of distractions and despair these days to begin with. We're all happy when we get to see new art from you, no matter when :)

Hmmm, you know what, I now really want to see these two have a intelligent conversation about their views of religion. I always enjoy characters that are giving deep talks about their fictional religion (though it is rare), and with these two (Three if you count the war chicken) I feel like it would be funny and entertaining in a very subtle way.
It can mean King, Leader, Lord, "The one who leads the way" and other stuff like that depending on the region.
Nur speaks a different language than what is spoken in Sirath city (where Arash Kor lives), but his village is close enough to the border of the Empire of Sirath, so Kor became part of his language too as a loanword.

I'm happy to know you are alive and well. I was a little worried.
This is a great happy scene with these two. I love learning more about the gods in your world.
The bracers on Azad look new to me. It also seems like something is a little off about Azad's right hand. Maybe it is because of the bracer? Thanks for sharing!
