No Prophecy page today, but here's a little something in exchange :)
I wanted to make a little picture to celebrate one of our biggest milestones yet, the 100th Tree of Life page :) I thought a little group picture would fit this special occasion, but I felt adding a few chaos beasts to shake the mood up would make it a lot more fun :D
I feel I've learned a lot since I started this comic, and I hope to learn even more about colours, poses, framing, and storytelling as I draw more and more pages. I always get a boost of energy when I reach milestones, whether it's about a character, a prominent scene, or, of course, an important part of a story. When I look back after 100 pages, I realise how many events and scenes I've drawn, and I see how much there is still to be drawn! This is both exciting and scary. A big challenge fitting for me! I'm full of ideas I want to show you; I just need to get there. I want us to enjoy the characters' journey together in a world infested with chaos monsters.
Thank you so much to all of you for all the support you gave us over the years that let us come this far ^^ So let us head onward to the next 100 pages! :D

Especially Nigel. The image here shows that for all his snarky nature and seemingly selfish outlook, he still cares about others.
Why? Well, if you look at how long Tristian's tail is, had Nigel left it draped over the rock's side, the Corruption would have grabbed it and pulled Tristian off the rock, which not only would have lead to Tristian's demise, but would have knocked half the party off the rock in the process.
And to be honest, Tristian's been the only person Nigel can consider a "Friend" in a long time... If not the first friend he ever had, seeing as his family had him isolated prior to the Guardian selection.
Why? Well, if you look at how long Tristian's tail is, had Nigel left it draped over the rock's side, the Corruption would have grabbed it and pulled Tristian off the rock, which not only would have lead to Tristian's demise, but would have knocked half the party off the rock in the process.
And to be honest, Tristian's been the only person Nigel can consider a "Friend" in a long time... If not the first friend he ever had, seeing as his family had him isolated prior to the Guardian selection.
...I like the detail of Nigel holding Tristian's tail so he wouldn't get yoinked by the Corruption below them.
As to why he didn't tell them, I suspect a simple reason why... His precognition ability showed him two outcomes if he either Ignored Tristian's tail, or told the crew... And both outcomes involved half the party falling off the rock anyway, the first outcome being Tristian being yanked off the rock causes most of the party to be dragged off with Tristian...
...The second outcome is because warning the party results in Leo knocking half the party off the rock in his single-minded charge at the horde.
This is likely why Nigel is looking grumpy here... He cannot really win either way.

Lovely piece of lovely characters! This comic is so far one of the best webcomics I've ever read. The plot is easy to follow, each character is unique with interesting and different backstories, each character makes you feel like you understand why they do or don't do things etc. Very lovely story and characters. I always rush to read it when a new page is released. Thank you for sharing this story with us. ♥

And those lil purple dudes actually work for the IRS.
