Since I first introduced her, and for the longest time since, I referred to Satoya as ‘a crossdresser who liked to be referred to as female‘, or similar very roundabout ways of basically avoiding just calling her transgender.

When I first introduced her, I did worry that people would think I was just ‘inserting a trans character to be trendy’ or some shit, when I honestly just felt like it really suited her all along. I was also concerned that, not being trans myself, I’d mess up writing her somehow and upset somebody in the trans community.

However, I’ve long since come to realize that there are only two groups of people who *really* care if a character in any media they consume is transgender or not – transgender people being one group, and hateful bigots being the other – and as I’m all too happy to upset the latter of those groups on purpose, anybody who was in any doubt can officially consider this confirmation that Satoya is, in fact, transgender. :3
