Thought it would be interesting to showcase how my OCs changed from their original concepts to what they are now.
I love how much I've improved in the storytelling department, I've always been okay with coming up with ideas, but when it came to put those ideas on paper it was always a total drag... [WALL OF TEXT INCOMING]
A character that I've come to love and appreciate ever since I was young is The Daredevil!
I love how believable is! Even back then, I saw Matt Murdock as a real person, like someone I could actually find and be friends with in real life. It would've been so easy for him to just be "The hero who is blind" and make that his only characteristic, but instead he feels like a real human being;
He's someone who's had a rough upbringing, having to learn from young age how to stitch skin for his father, whom was a boxer, and whom he loved dearly and saw him as the hero that he was. He went to law school, where he met his best friend and together they decided that their dream was to open their own business. He's a Christian, who is honest about what he does in his hero-hours with the local priest, whom he trusts his secret identity with. He's someone who wants the world to be a better place, and notice that none of what I just described had nothing to do with him being blind.
He's not "The hero who is blind", he's a person, someone who wants to do good that just so happens to be blind. I wanna write characters like that, I want them to feel like they're someone you would meet at school, or on the street; I want them to have hobbies, faiths (independent of what they might be, Christian, atheist, magic crystals lmao), an upbringing that might explain any skills or their morality;
BASICALY, what I'm trying to convey to you in this word vomit is that I want you to care about my colorful, furry OCs as much as I do.
(there will be more of these in the future but without the essay)
