Max Periwinkle and Dave Benton = KobaltSteel
Alright, here we go... I finally did it, a romantic scene! I was very nervous to do something like this, but I overcame those concerns and finally drew one out, this time between Dave and Max... as you know, these two are a gay couple, or become one over the years (as they start off as best friends before becoming one)... so, I had to eventually draw a romantic scene like this, to show that!
I think I did good here... although I now realize Dave's glasses faded out of the picture (oops)... gotta be careful about that, next time
MORE INFO!!!!
Changing the backstory a little bit, Max and Dave were ACTUALLY pretty close friends in grade school and even college (going to the same college together, unlike the other Paintballers), being the best of friends for many years. Despite various challenges, the two of them had strong similarities and enjoyed supporting each other; even though they were members of The Paintballers, the two of them would often do things without the other members... as did everyone else, but it was especially the case with Max and Dave. Obviously, their friendship grew in college (as Max was no longer oppressed by his parents) and even in adulthood, when the Paintballers were reunited and Max and Dave became roommates... but things began to change at that point...
Max and Dave, both of them being gay, would find themselves attracted to each other; coming off of several failed relationships each, the question kept popping into their mind, "Could he really be the one?" I mean, the two of them knew each other like the back of their hands, always supported one another, were there through thick and thin, and they don't care about each others' fame... but they were afraid that confronting each other would jeopardize their friendship, so they held off... until one evening, after Max finished off a big and important concert, when the two of them just danced together and accidentally fell in love with each other, revealing their true feelings
But even this came with many concerns, as expected. For one, they were still scared about jeopardizing their friendship, scared that they might not actually be right for each other and scared about... just how to do all of this stuff and whether things are going too fast. Essentially, did they TRULY want this for each other? On top of this, they were concerned about how this could affect their friend group too, in the sense that a romantic relationship COULD affect the friend dynamic in a way that makes doing things with each other too awkward
Dave was the most scared of facing this dilemma and reality, not sure on what he wants and afraid to hurt the people closest to him... where this will lead to, I need to write that out still... but I'll get there!
