Nordstrom is a Merc by trade. So he has gone through many tools and weapons, but this sword has been with him all his life. It belonged to his father before and one of the very few items that survived the destruction of his village. It's an ordinary looking blade, thought to be dwarven made, but when taken to smiths for maintenance. Two things will stick out: First, the blade is quite old! Dwarven blades do lates but this blade has lasted longer. Second. This blade was made by other hands, not just dwarves. But none know who the others were who help forged this blade, even the runes casted on the blade are a little off, still dwarven, but just a bit off like an old dialect.
Nordy has done a little research, but nothing really comes up. He knows it's enchanted, that it is a master craft weapon, and it's seems to resist everyday wear and tear, as if to defy it. Even it's scabbard with the Dara Knot has stood up to time. The only interesting thing he learned was the runes written on the guard. Defiance, non really magical but somehow rings out. Most wouldn't even bother using runes in this manner. Many runes are used for enhancing and enchantments. To use rune for names or words is rarely heard of. But every smith that works on the blade all say they feel something. Not hate or malice. But a sense of Pride, of "laughing at the face of adversity"
Nordy may never know that this blade was forged by three friends of different races. That they defied everyone who said that their friendship can never work, that the deeds and work will never be fruitful. They stood in defiance of the old ways, and thinking! That their bond and friendship would create this masterwork. That A human, Dwarf, And Dragon can work together and even co-exist! That all the answer he need are hidden in a ruined city. One day he may stumble upon that city. Only time will tell, for now. For now, this blade is special to him. And that good enough for him.
