This image popped up to me during my recent Autumn themed Picarto stream, but I considered it too complicated to tackle during the short time frame of a stream.
Even after she was reformed Starlight Glimmer was something of an iconoclast. Also willing to question the status quo and the norms of pony society.
So I could see Starlight under certain carefully controlled circumstances being willing to experiment with certain types of necromantic magics. If nothing else out of curiosity. So after carefully reviewing the spell and assembling the necessary components she attempts it.

Considering that Starlight was forgiven really easy in the show, after seeing this version of her here, I think she could have worked quite well as an anti-hero in case she decided to escape again just to appear in front of all, or some, of the Mane Six so as to solve problems from time to time, or something; that would have been better, at least in my opinion.
And speaking of Starlight, I must add that, in this piece, she still looks sexy, stylish, stunning and cool in that outfit, as well as fit, lovely and scary, too; great work by the way. <3
