I once based myself off of the hale-bopp comet because it was twin tailed with blue and yellow; though later after buying Final Exit and a couple years later would i realize Heavens gate and its 32 people had to all be together to stand together in suicide for their dignity in death; whats scary is that their exit interview were all calm and very understanding- none of them felt like zombies like one would expect from a cult.

I think about this often cause i think i could easily keep up with 32 people- i can manage with that!
I had originally bought the book for my grandmother since we made a promise that i would assist her.
some of it was me trying to progress the conversation for my local system too; but it was a hard fight.

I recently re-watched Midsommar and got into this haze of researching cults and their indoctrination tactics and tbh I think most individuals that are recruited into a cult are at a very low/vulnerable point in their life and have no community or anyone to turn to when the cult gets their claws into them. Being given something to life for (ANYTHING to live for) and people who support you when you've got nothing can actively make you turn your back towards reality/ your own inner survival voice. Classic brainwashing.

Though.....I could see myself falling victim to those tactics too when I was younger and hadn't developed enough self confidence.....
I can definitely see blinded cult members talking about their cause with assurance and rationality. Its frightening to watch interviews of it with your own eyes.... but that's why it's good to stay informed, you know?

I've never heard of the Final Exit before now.... DIDN'T EVEN KNOW there was a book written about this cult tbh. I think I may purchase this book. thank you for bringing it to my attention.
