Korr and Helsing went to different Irken Elite academies growing up, but in their late teens/early 20s, their academies started collaborating together on missions and insisted that soldiers of the two academies start pairing up for tasks and missions to ensure good teamwork skills and building new bonds between soldiers. Even among Elites, Korr and Helsing clearly developed an extra-special bond that the higher-ups took note of, realizing they worked as a deadly and efficient team. It didn't take a rocket scientist to realize pairing them up for the tougher missions was an excellent idea, thus they built a fairly illustrious career together, with Helsing as the diplomat/steath/sniper skillset, and Korr as the juggernaut/big guns/bluntness side of things.

Later in their career they started drifting apart, both developing life goals of their own, namely Korr purchasing huge island property and starting to build his own small empire upon it, Agora, a haven for casinos, resorts, and escapes from the Empire, eventually even leaving his role as an Elite soldier. Helsing however, remained a hardcore loyalist Elite and kept building his successful and destructive career. They're still good friends to this day.
