After two weeks in Biarritz, Bloom and her friends decided to extend their stay in France with two weeks in La Rochelle, in the Charente-Maritime region, close to the islands of Ré, Oléron and Aix, a perfect tourist area for excellent local dishes, sunbathing, sightseeing, boat trips and long walks or bike rides.
Taking advantage of an excellent sunny day with a temperature of 28 degrees and a light wind of 15km/h, the Winx decided to cycle from the hotel les Brises where they were staying to the parking area for crossing the Ré island bridge reserved for pedestrians and cyclists.
The parking lot opposite the toll booth for vehicles before crossing the Ré island bridge (16€ by car during the summer season) was full when the Winx arrived, so they realized the excellent initiative of not having come by car to park in the parking lot, and they'll have to cross the bridge for 3km, the first half of which will be a steep climb requiring a major muscular effort, not a problem for the 5th dan tai-jitsu karate sports fairies, who can use their magic to reduce fatigue if they can't all keep up the pace during the journey.
