As Blix and Cryselia flew their way back to the guild hall after their ordeal, Kachina was padding her way around the forest she called home. She gently walked among the foliage, the volcano she so coveted able to be seen, along with the moon shining above it. She’d just finished bringing her queen back to her mountain, after finally ‘convincing’ Shade to ‘let her go’, and getting her own bits of clothing returned to her before they were sent on their way. She felt it a bit awkward, given what the two had gone through and where she had been ‘positioned’, but her queen hadn’t seemed to mind. And she got a ‘rumble’ of thanks and approval, as she worked her way back into her cavern home for some long needed rest. With her return, the forest could breathe a sigh of relief, along with her and her tribe, as now their ‘protector’ and provider was back where she belonged once again.
Though, even with that, Kachina was unsettled. She knew it wasn’t entirely her fault that all this had happened, Yilna hadn’t been able to be reasoned with fast enough, and everything else could largely be attributed as ‘her fault’ more than anything. But even still, she had felt powerless. Completely incapable of dictating any of the actions that had occurred, and this frustrated her greatly. Sure, she was ‘just a smith’ but she felt like she should have been able to do something, anything, at any point. Summon up even a little bit of fire to burn away the webs before the poachers had gotten there, not being so weak to barely stay conscious with all the skill drain rope applied to her. Even just having been stronger to stop Yilna from initiating this whole event in the first place.
She felt completely worthless the entire time, angry, spiteful, but unable to do a lick of difference. This aggravated her to no end, and she felt the flames that had been stuck inside her all day boiling over. A soft chant exited her lips, and her flaming armor licked across her form, spilling out of her as she was unable to contain it any longer. It ignited along her claws, licked up and over the black parts of her form, the ‘charred’ portions, her tribe calls them. They flowed along the top of her tail, drifted up and over her caffs and heels, and burst forth from the top of her head. Her eyes were slits, as her rage at her own inadequacy began to overtake her, and luckily for her, one of the many night predators began to make itself known.
A large oversized monstrous bear, built large and imposing, its eyes glowing within the darkness as it scanned this new area it felt it could stalk for food. As it approached the glowing raptor, she’d bend down into a combat stance, her fingers touching the pooled, almost melted dirt, as her eyes focused on the beast that now rose to tower before her.
“Perfect, I need to let off some steam…come here, you massive overgrown mutt.” Kachina growled, and the beast obliged. With a roar that echoed into the night, it charged the glowing raptor, intent on gauging her for its meal with its massive forepaws outstretched.
Instead, Kachina glided around its bulky frame with ease, and went sliding up its form. She dug her burning claws into it’s fur and flesh, singeing it’s body with flame before she let out another few powerful words of her chant. Her fire erupted from her form in a cone, spinning around the monstrous bear like a burning tornado, as the bear roared out in burning pain. It tried to ‘hug’ down onto her to try and remove her, but she dug her dew claws into its chest, and pinned herself to him, as the bear went flying onto its back and flailed around helplessly in agony.
In a few moments more, the battle was over, the bear burnt to a crisp, as Kachina finally pulled herself from its body. She dissipated the flames with a word, as her eyes lifted to stare deeply into the moon, and then at the Volcano below it.
“I will get strong enough to protect you…I will be your savior, as much as you are ours…I will not stay this weak.” Kachina muttered to herself, steam being pushed from her nostrils as she exhaled it out into the night. She’d then take a deep breath, before letting out a sigh, and turned away, walking her way toward her tribe's camp to spend the night, dragging what was left of the monstrous bear behind her.
Annnnnd as the FINAL part to this wholllle story...a little 'not so cool down' story with Kachina >//>; because I feel this fit as a proper conclusion and just 'brought it all home' so to speak. An absolutely lovely image done by
DemalyxDragon (who is offering commissions herself as of me posting this, should this seem cool to you ovob) who did an absolutely FANTASTIC job with my request to show of Kachina's 'flaming armor' more correctly xD. The flame effects on this are just immaculate, they looks so friggen cool along with her 'piercing' reptilian expression, and just the overall orange flame light overshadowing the blue glow of the moon. It's just soooo dang pretty to look at and I think Kachina herself turned out looking fantastic in Dem's style ; v; I appreciate it a good bit and think it looks just wonderful! And is a fine way to conclude this massive behemoth of a storyline xD.
