Been farting around with an idea for a while now to sorta spice up my YouTube channel’s branding and presentation a bit, and I love bullying my dumb racc, so… two birds with one stone?
The idea is: Remy unwittingly gets themselves sucked into their computer, converted into a .racc file and transformed into a more cartoony, less articulate version of themself. They’ve been trapped by an impatient fan who isn’t happy they haven’t uploaded since September, and as a consequence, Remy is confined entirely to digital spaces - their only hope of returning to a life of flesh, blood and tasting avocados again is to talk about one thousand different games (probs 3D platformers and racing games specifically) in their videos. Harsh! That’s a lotta games! (And they can’t cheese it by just playing all the Formula One games and saying “wow this one’s basically the same as the last” lmao)
How this gets represented in videos, I’m not sure yet, but I’ll probably still draw Remy on occasional digital adventures regardless of whether I go this route for my channel or not. Some funny little factoids, though:
- pupils are square
- voice is slightly bitcrushed and modulated. The more heated they get, the more pronounced the effect becomes
- able to freely travel to any device on a local network, but also transfer themself between devices via Bluetooth and even send themself across the internet in attachments via messages and emails (be sure to open the attachment - they can’t open it and get out themself)
- controls devices they occupy with thoughts, eg. moving a mouse, simulating button presses on a controller
- communicates with the outside world via audio devices. They can control system volume, but if the volume is turned down externally (a volume knob on speakers), Remy is rendered silent
- not conveyed here but I like the idea of them being locked to certain poses and expressions. more can be added in the future but to begin with they can only assume so many poses and make so many faces. they find this immensely annoying

What happens if a device you occupy is powered off or unplugged? Can you power it back on yourself, do you go to sleep, or are you just a consciousness trapped in the hardware with no way to express yourself?
And also, can your digital form get itchy? Cuz if so, it must be MAD frustrating to get an itch in a spot where you don’t have any poses to reach it!
